At Out in the Bay, we provide dedicated support for individuals exploring or affirming their gender identity. We understand that this journey is deeply personal, and our team includes support workers with lived experience in transitioning and exploring gender identity, ensuring you receive empathetic and informed support.
Our Community Hub offers practical resources, including a clothing swap shop and spaces for you to change clothes in private, to allow you to experiment with your gender expression in a safe, supportive environment. We can also offer hair and make-up tutorials, and vocal training tips, for anyone who may be interested. We are committed to empowering you to explore your identity and live as your most authentic self. Whether you’re just beginning your journey, seeking ongoing support, or learning to support a transgender loved one, we’re here to help.
We recognise that transgender and non-binary individuals may encounter various challenges, including social stigma, discrimination, and access to appropriate healthcare. Navigating legal challenges, such as name and gender marker updates, and dealing with social rejection can also be significant hurdles. Our support services are here to help you navigate these challenges, providing both practical and emotional support.
Feel free to get in touch with us for more information about how we can support you.
